23-year-old friend missing! Wembanyama issues missing person notice, also asks Rose and Noah for help

On March 3, Beijing time, Spurs star Victor Wembanyama is seeking help to locate his friend, 23-year-old Elijah Hode. His family stated he was reported missing in Chicago on Sunday local time and did not board his flight back to France.

Chicago police issued a missing person alert on Sunday afternoon: Hode was last seen on Friday at O'Hare Airport, wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and beige shoes. Police also indicated Hode may require medical assistance.

Wembanyama posted on Instagram on Monday morning local time, pleading with the public to help find "our friend."

"If you have any information, please contact local police."

The Spurs star also tagged several well-known Chicago athletes, including Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, and NHL Blackhawks star Connor Bedard.

Regarding the reason for the disappearance, Hode's family told local media he had just completed a 10-day trip to Chicago.

"The first 8 days were completely normal, but his mood changed entirely in the last two days. He was very adamant about not wanting to go home and did not wish to return to France," said Elijah's father, Antwan Hode.

He also mentioned his son never checked in for the flight and might still be "lingering around the airport area." "But that was the last time we saw him."
